Weigh day!!

This week I have lost 1 lb. I am so happy with this result. Altough I did not do as much exercise than I had planned I still ate well and managed to knock off the 1/2 pound I gained last week and then some.

I went to Boot Camp Monday night and even tough it was just myself and and that turn up it was still a great workout and it felt like we had our own personal trainer :-) My friend who is getting married next year wants to lose weight and tone up before her big day joined and it means I now have a workout buddy. So with one session of Boot Camp and a jog Sunday morning that sums up my exercise for the week. That doesn't sound like too much but I was also walking to and from work everyday and the hill to get home is very steep!!

I now have 6 lbs left to goal weight so I will work my best to keep aiming for the pound a week - it's almost summer and 1 lb gone for the next 6 weeks will bring me right on target- I do not want to be hiding on the beach in August.
I am doing a Summer challenge also with one of my Favourite Blogs The Skinny Doll. The previous challenge she did helped me out a lot so I am delighted that a new one has started and perfect timing indeed for me.

Next week I have to make sure not to miss any exercises classes so I will be planning ahead to make all my classes. I am already missing my Zumba as I didn't go at all this week. Staying on track is my main priorty 5 weeks to Summer so staying focused is vital for me.

Going For Gold!!

Above is a before picture of me 2 months after my baby and today

So I have been in Weight Watchers since last July, when my baby was 6weeks old. Since then I have lost almost a stone and a half! That is a great achievement for me which I am really proud of. It has been a slow process but I firmly agree that anything you really want in life will take time and won't happen over night especially healthy weight loss. In this time I have learnt how to eat and drink the things I most enjoy in moderation. I have always been able to eat what I wanted with the Pro Points system and by tracking everything I ate I knew how much of anything was enough without over doing it. I also didn't have to give up alcohol so I still had my social life (even though I don't go out that often anyway)!

I am really pleased that I joined Weight Watchers as I feel I wouldn't understand what I was doing wrong with eating habits because it really made me understand exactly what I was putting in my body. I have learnt to control my portion sizes for all types of food and drink. I know have the knowledge to live a healthy life through healthy weight loss and the most important thing is that I know how to control my weight so as to not be an unhealthy weight in the future. The support in the meetings have been a blessing as the stories from other members really help because they are going through exactly what I was and by sharing all our experiences and weight loss together it is a great sense of support.

Even though it has taken me much longer than anticipated to get to the weight I am now, I wouldn't have had it any other way as I feel I appreciate it more than what I would have with a ''quick fix''. I have worked so hard to get to my current weight that I am not going to give it all up so easily and when I do reach my goal weight I will make sure to maintain it as best I can. It is so close that the prospect of being given my gold card makes me giddy. It is also important to understand that when goal weight is reached then that is it. Everyone losing weight should know exactly what their goal weight is and not try to lose any less because you will be going below your bodies BMI.

I have tried new exercise regimes that I really enjoy and also they give me a lot more energy. I drink a lot more water as I now understand how important it is for my body and my health. The sames goes for eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, my skin is a lot clearer and my energy levels are much higher than what they were prior to having my baby.

Goal Weight to me is such a huge stepping stone in my life that will help me to be happier in my body and confident once again, having a baby is such an over whelming and happy time in your life that can sometimes be over shadowed with the prospect of wanting to get back to your old figure. My advice to all new mothers is to enjoy this new time and not worry to much about your post baby weight. It has taken 9 months to put on this weight so it will take you as much time if not more to get rid of it which is OK - we are only human after all. We are the only judges of ourselves and anybody Else's negative opinions to not matter. It is so important to lose weight at a healthy pace as it is more likely to stay off long term. What I have learnt from Weight watchers I am truly grateful for. I now have all the tools to lead a healthy lifestyle for now and in the future.

So for these next few weeks I will be trying my hardest to get my goal weight.
My current weight is 9 stone 11 lbs and my goal weight will be 9 stone 4 lbs which will be a healthy BMI for me - it is different for everyone. I have exactly 7 lbs or half a stone left to reach this which I will keep reminding myself. I have lost so much already that I hope this comes soon enough. I have set myself a goal of losing 1 lb a week which is realistic with healthy eating and exercise. Hopefully it shouldn't be long more before I am one of those gold card holders I so envy right now :-)

Weigh Day!!

In class tonight I wasn't shocked to be told that I had gained 1/2 a lb.I am actually pleased as I felt I may had been up more!I was eating well this week with healthy lunches and dinners and I didn't drink any alcohol which I think was one of the main things that helped me considering I only went to 1 Zumba class because I was unable to make Monday's class as I didn't have a spin and I went for a Chinese meal for my mams birthday Wednesday (I ordered a king prawn chow mein). On top of this I also had another chinese takeaway and ordered a pizza earlier in the week. I was definitely over indulging a bit too much on the take aways! I think I felt that many weeks that I do have a takeaway I still manage to lose weight because I work it off but with this being one of the weeks that I have done the least exercise and ate the most takeaways was not a good combination!

So with this gain I am determined to stay right on track to reaching my goal weight. It's soo close I can almost taste it!! I really can't wait to get my gold card and reach my healthy goal weight. I have started doing my stomach exercises again as I have been neglecting them lately and I really need all the toning in my tummy area. My summer holiday is 4th August and I want to have the confidence in my bikini that I had pre pregnancy. It's all well and good maintaining eating healthy but the exercise is really important at this stage and it also gives me a lot more energy.

Boot Camp is starting back up again next week and I will be there working it all off again. Bring it on - no pain, no gain (or loss of weight in my case)!!

So here's to summer and getting in the right shape where I want to be, plenty of time now for toning. I will only have myself to blame if I don't and I'm not having that I have tried too hard to give up now so I will just keep pushing and the reward will be more than worth it.
Next week I will make sure I knock that 1/2 lb right off and then some!!

Weigh Day!!

Weigh Day was a great result this evening with being told that I have lost 1 & 1/2 lbs!!
I am extremely happy with this as I am aiming for 1 lb loss a week so this is definitely a bonus.

I was drinking both Easter Saturday and Sunday with plenty of alcohol to do me a while that I will take a break from it for a while. I do not drink very often anymore so when I do I more than make up for it. I also had a few too many takeaways over the weekend. I have to admit though that I did not over indulge with easter eggs, in fact the only bit of chocolate I had was a mini packet of maltesers - chocolate is not my vice - I am more of a savoury person.

So after the weekend, feeling like I had gained about half a stone from all that alcohol I decided to try and undo all the damage caused from the weekend, and with that I turned up to my first of 3 Zumba classes bloated and sluggish and danced my arse off and did so for the next 2 nights afterwards.

I also went swimming with my partner and our baby who has now turned 10 months already -where has the time gone?! It was her first time and she was more than happy to be splashing around as she loves water! We had a great time splashing around with her and took turns doing laps to get a bit of exercise too.

So all the workouts did the world of good as I was shocked to be down that much. I have lost my measuring tape so I will have to get a new one as I am curious to see what my measurement's are since the last time I checked was over 2 weeks ago. I am feeling very optimistic about the next few weeks that I am determined to reach my goal before June so I will stay on track, it's soo close I can't give up now!!!!!!

I hope you all have had a good week too - summer is almost here so lets get moving :-)

Weigh Day!!

Today was Weigh Day as will be from all Thursdays onwards and I am so pleased to say that I have lost 1 lb this week :-). I really tried hard by going to boot camp for one session as the other was cancelled as I was the only person to turn up in this freezing weather! I also attented my 1 Zumba class. I have also started jogging this week- now not that much but instead of walking to workouts I just jog instead and jog back home. It only seems fitting to push my fitness that bit more but more importantly push myself! I really didn't think a few months ago that I would be capable of jogging but I feel it does a lot more than just walking alone and is a great warm up before the 'real exercise' begins!!

So with this great result I have now 6 lbs left to Goal weight which I will work hard to get - no excuses!!
It is soo close and I am so determined to get there that I am going to try get it ASAP. This would mean losing 1 lb a week which I would be ecstatic about if it actually worked out that way. So staying determined and keeping fitness and my tracking as top priority will do me the world of good.

Here's to staying on track and getting to goal weight by summer
 :-)
